No Fun - Don't Leave Me Hanging b/w It Came From Heaven (1981)

Artist(s): No Fun
Title: Don't Leave Me Hanging b/w It Came From Heaven
Format: 7"
Year: 1981
Label/Catalog: Werewolf T-Shirts WTSE 7

Wow. What a change from their early 7"s to this. I haven't heard any of their 1980 material (if there is any) but it'd be interesting to get the missing piece of progression. From oddball not-quite-new-wave, to what's more or less radio friendly powerpop(ish) on the A side. The B side brings back some familiar sounds with chord progressions that would fit on either of the first two EPs perfectly. It looks like David M. is the only original member at this point. Unless Jim French is the same Jimmy Hamelin from the prior EPs.

UPDATE 07/24/13: Straight from David M. himself: "Jim French and Jimmy Hamelin are two different people, but they did know each other." Thanks David!

Nothing to note about the rip. A near mint record so nothing to cause any problems. If only everyone cared for their collection this much.

"Oinksededoinksdoink" music, and, as always, "PRO Canada".

  2. Thanks for the note, David!

Would you be able to share details on the NO FUN discography? I know of the three 7"s posted here as well as a tape, and the Vancouver Complication tracks.

    Regards,

  3. There's a Facebook page called "NO FUN: The Beatles Of Surrey" that has lots and lots of stuff on it, including info on our cassette albums "Ghost Paper Boy In Robin's Gay Trailer Park", "Snivel", "1894", "The New Switcheroo", "The Night Smells Like A Dog", "The Beatles Of Surrey", and "Old", CBC studio collections, live recordings, etc.. Reach me through that, or at davidm.nofun@live.ca. Great site!
